The opening ceremony of the Venetian carnival took place on 27 January 2018, in the Cannaregio district. Recall that the dates of the carnival depends on the date of Easter in the current year. The carnival ends in the so-called Fat Tuesday, before lent, 40 days before Easter.
Last action will be to 13 Feb and end at San Marco. The theme of the carnival this year declared a “Creatum: Civitas Ludens”, which can be translated as “Creativity: City of sport”.
