The strongest tennis player of Ukrainian Elina Svitolina won a crushing victory in the match of the fourth round of the Open championship of Australia.
For an exit in 1/4 final of the first tournament of the season Grand slam, a native of Kharkov competed with the 130-th racket of the world from the Czech Republic Genisoy Alertwall. Svitolina tried to take revenge for the defeat two years ago at the tournament in Doha.
Svitolina was considered the undisputed favorite of the match, and the Ukrainian had 59 minutes to make debut in the history of the Ukrainian women’s tennis to the quarterfinal of the Australian Open.
In the first set Svitolina made three breaks with one missed game on his serve. In the second game Elina easily won six games in a row and was followed in the quarter-finals.
“It was a great match, I’m happy with my game. The status of one of the tournament favourites adds pressure and increases my confidence. As always, in the next match will give their all on the court,” said Svitolina after the match.
In the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, Elina Svitolina on Tuesday will play against tennis player from Belgium by Alice Mertens.
