Record race in the US: a two-legged robot ran five kilometers in 53 minutes

The Cassie robot did this on a single charge. Agility Robotic, that was founded by the University of Oregon, created a two-legged robot Cassie, which ran five kilometers in 53 minutes on a single battery charge. This is a record among robots of this type.

During the race, it took 6.5 minutes to restart the robot twice, which fell due to overheating and an unsuccessful maneuver. It began to be created in 2017 with funds allocated by the US Department of defense as part of support for promising research projects.

In the future, robots like Cassie will be able to deliver packages, work in warehouses, and help people with household chores.
