New vans and minibuses will be made from Chinese parts.
As planned, the Minsk automobile plant in November, launched in Brest, the first mass production of minibuses and vans. The machine should be oriented to the domestic market. Assembly plant launched in the free areas of OJSC Brestmash. The project is a collaborative effort carried out jointly with the Chinese company.
Vans is a joint project of the MAZ with Chinese state-owned company, components – imported (made in China), but specialists and technology local. At the same time, a month before the start of production the representatives of the plant said: “we Considered various options of funding, including borrowing. It was decided to do everything by own forces and resources.”
The first went into serial production passenger van MAZ 281, a prototype of which has already passed all the necessary tests. Length of new items is 6 m, width – 2,1 m, height – 2.8 m, and the wheelbase is 3.57 m.
Also in the collection is a cargo van (except for the cabin, from a minibus there are no differences). The car has five doors, including sliding ones, and inside have air-conditioning, cruise control, navigation system and radio.
The van is equipped with rear Parking sensors, anti-lock braking system and electronic brake distribution efforts. Turbo diesel JAC motors belong to the class Euro-5, have a capacity of 150 HP, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
“The cars have already passed the certification procedure, in Brest they will not only collect, but also to test – say MAZ. – Then under the brand MAZ cars will go on sale. Price not yet determined, but in any case it will be much cheaper than the popular Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Chinese components in the future will replace Belarusian: tyres, engines, electrical equipment, interior trim. According to the plans, by the end of the year in Brest will produce 50 cars (passenger and freight), and in the future – up to two thousand a year.”
