According to the results of the second quarter of 2023, the average time spent on work decreased by 37 minutes, with the length of the workday falling from over 10.5 hours to 10 hours. These findings were reported by experts from the analytical company ActivTrak.

The study analyzed a total of 38 million hours worked by more than 134,000 employees from 911 companies worldwide in various industries such as finance, healthcare, insurance, and professional services.

The reduction in work hours only affected the concluding part of the workday. This factor contributed to the improvement of the psychological well-being of most employees. This was largely due to a decrease in the volume of excessive workloads, with the number of fatigued and stressed workers decreasing by 13% on an annual basis.

However, despite the positive trend, the overall percentage of overworked employees in companies worldwide remains high, standing at 28%. At the same time, labor productivity, taking into account the shortened work hours, remained unchanged, with an average of 7.2 productive hours per day over the past year.
