The officers were on patrol in Broxtowe in Nottinghamshire, when they suddenly saw a penguin waddling down the road yesterday morning. Soon it appeared that the animal had escaped from his stay on a farm and had already travelled 1.5 kilometers.

Bobbies gave the penguin the name Po-Po. “He posed for some pictures and was very friendly to our agents,” says Chief Constable Gareth Philp to BBC. The police then returned the animal to its owner.

According to the BBC, two stolen Penguins were rescued by the police in the same place last January. A 23-year-old man was arrested for that.

In the Netherlands, too, a penguin escaped recently and then made a big trip. The animal escaped from avifauna Bird Park in Alphen aan den Rijn and was eventually found in Bodegraven, about 12 kilometres away. ,He’s had a whole swim. He was also seen at Woerdense Belast, Leimuiden and Nieuwveen”, said Pamela Stolze of the Alphense park at the time.
