Biden’s climate plans in question as the 3-trillion deal hangs in the air

U.S. President Joe Biden’s climate plans are in doubt after senator Joe Manchin announced on Sunday that he will not support the $ 2 trillion investment package in education, health and climate.

The package includes $ 1.5 trillion of climate-related investments. The White House stated that such measures would help the United States in its plans to reduce its emissions by 50 to 52 percent by 2030 compared to 2005 levels.

According to analysts, Biden will face the necessary challenges to achieve this goal if his climate plans are not approved. And that would again make it difficult to take a leading position in international climate discussions.

Last month, a package of $555 billion in climate measures was approved.
