YouTube made it possible on Thursday to add chapters to videos on the platform. This should make it easier for users to navigate videos.
On desktop, the video progress bar contains small black pauses to indicate where each chapter ends and a new chapter begins. When the user hovers over this bar with the mouse, the title of the chapter becomes visible.
Light vibrations have been added to the mobile app to indicate when a user has arrived at a new chapter. For example, you can navigate to different songs.
The creators can add these timestamps in the video description. The first timestamp in the list starts at 12:00 AM and the video must have at least three timestamps, YouTube writes. A chapter must last at least ten seconds.
