He was the tallest man in history.
Robert Wadlow was called “a Gentle Giant”.
Despite its exceptionally large increase (2.72 m), Wadlow was a real wallflower of the town of Otan in Illinois. He grew up all his life, and so quickly that to stay on his feet, Robert needed crutches. Once spike rubbed his leg in a blister became infected, causing blood poisoning, and Wadlow died at age 22 in 1940, but continues to occupy first place in the Guinness Book of records as the tallest ever existed.

Robert was invited to schools, theatres and lecture halls after his participation in the circus.
Adult size feet Robert reached 49 cm (us size 37 AA). The shoes he sewed to order, like clothes. Materials usually spent three times more than the norm. In the photo — taking measurements for tailoring of the jacket.
