Vitali Klitschko – the first Ukrainian in the International Boxing hall of fame

Former WBC world heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko was officially incorporated into the international Boxing hall of fame.

In the international Boxing hall of fame Klitschko fell into the category of “Modern boxers”. Of the 32 candidates by voting were chosen three new members of the Hall of fame – Vitaly Klitschko, Erik Morales and Winky Wright.

Ukrainian champion in the opening weekend in Canastota (United States) left the imprint of his fist, took part in the traditional parade of Champions and visited the local Museum.

“Never expected that you will enter in Boxing Hall of fame. Never expected that I would become world champion in the USA. I am very proud to be together with the legends of Boxing. It’s a dream to be with Muhammad Ali in the Hall of fame.

I am very proud that I have the strongest brother in the world. I am more than confident that he too will be in the Hall of fame of Boxing,” said Klitschko at the ceremony of inclusion in the Hall of fame.

Vitali Klitschko was the world champion in superheavy weight under version WBO and WBC. Ukrainians have never visited knockout, and two defeats (against Chris Byrd and Lennox Lewis) has suffered due to injuries.

After his sports career, Klitschko has become a successful politician. Currently, boxer holds the post of Kyiv mayor.
