Зависимость от видеоигр может быть признаком дефицита внимания

The researcher Cecilie Schou Andreassen from the University of Bergen in Norway found that dependence on video games is most common among teenagers and young men who have no relations with the opposite sex.

Schou Andreassen conducted a study involving over 20,000 participants who answered the questions related to dependence on video games.

The results of the study showed that dependence on video games is associated with the syndrome of attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obsessive-compulsive disorder and depression.

“Video games can be used as a means to alleviate discomfort or to combat mental disorders lurking inside the person,” said Schou Andreassen.

The study also showed that dependence on video games and computer games is gender differences. Men, as a rule, addicted to online games and gambling, while women are dependent on social media and online stores.

The study was published in the journal “Psychology of Addictive Behaviors”.
