Ukrainian Internet-shops “steal” credit card data

In Ukraine, almost 70 online stores infected with malicious code that intercepts your card data. This is stated in the study of Dutch software developer of Willem de Groot.

“This software tab on the server store intercepts your card data at the time of their entry in a text box in the browser. In this case, the buyer did not protect the encryption over HTTPS, as data is captured before encryption”.

According Groote, malicious code found on websites 5925 online stores, of which 67 are in the zone UA. Dutch expert says that some of the stolen data was transmitted to servers in Russia and then sold for $ 30 per map.
The publication recommends that online shoppers:

– check domain online-store availability in the list before the payment card via Internet;

– access to online billing a separate card to fill up just before you purchase and only for the required amount;

– connect Bank service confirm online payments using the password that comes in the SMS (or other similar service).

Willem de Groot is a co – founder and Chairman of the Dutch safety ecommerce the website byte.nl. Data his personal credit card was stolen by hackers, so in 2015 he began his research.
