Ukraine won the sixth gold at the Paralympics in Pyeongchang

Ukrainian athletes had another successful day of winter Paralympics in South Korea.

The legendary Ukrainian Paralympian Vitaliy Lukyanenko at the age of 39 became the winner of the biathlon race for 15 km among the athletes with visual impairments. Second gold in Pyeongchang Lukyanenko won with almost two-minute gap from the other Ukrainian Alexander Kazik.

Lukyanenko became a two-time champion of the Paralympics in 2018, and only on account of the athlete’s Sum of six gold, three silver and three bronze medals.

The third prize medal in a moneybox of Ukraine in the race for 12.5 km among the athletes with visual impairments put Oksana Shishkova, who took second place. The Ukrainian became a three-time winner of Paralympic games 2018 – informed Shishkov won the race for 10 kilometers and was second on the 6-kilometer race.

Due to the success in biathlon, Ukraine takes the fourth place in the medal standings of the Games in Pyeongchang. Competition among Paralympians will end on Sunday, March 18.
