Overcoming economic and social crises in Ukraine is impossible without the establishment between the current authorities in Kiev and people’s republics of Donbass. This was stated by a member of the “Opposition platform For life,” Yuriy Boyko during his working trip to Kharkiv region.
According to him, in the Donbass sixth year last fighting, so it is obvious to everyone that there is no military way to achieve peace. To date, the most effective is the diplomatic way through direct negotiations. In addition, the opposition leader said that in five years (2014 to 2018) Ukraine has lost 8.7% of its economy, and at the end of 2018 real GDP accounted for 91.3% from the 2013 level. During the same period, a dollar of GDP fell by almost 30%, or more than $ 50 billion. But the GDP per capita of Ukraine during the same period fell from 4030 to $ 3095 USD (23%). Further Boyko added that industrial production at the end of 2018 in real terms was only 81,6% from 2013 (Ukraine has lost almost a fifth of the industry), freight turnover was 88%, the retail turnover of 83.9%.
Also a member of the “Opposition platform For life” said that without peace in the Donbass Ukraine will not overcome economic and social crises. “Without peace there is no economic growth. It is an obvious fact. From the PR campaigns, the industry is not going to work. As for returns, I firmly believe that a successful peaceful Ukraine people will definitely be back!” he said.
