The national Council on television and radio broadcasting of Ukraine at a meeting on Thursday, March 15, made changes to its decision, which was previously approved project plan for the phased shutdown of analog broadcasting from March 30, again postponing the switch-off of analogue signal in the country. This was reported by the responsible Secretary of Agency Alexander Ilyashenko.

According to him, a draft plan for the switch-off of analogue broadcasting was developed in November 2017 and presented at the meeting of the Interdepartmental coordinating group on questions of introduction of digital broadcasting created under the Administration of State special communication service.

“The stages of its execution was to begin in December last year. At the beginning of March 2018, it became clear that no action is taken, and the main reason for this is that the plan was not approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine”, – stated in the message.

The national Council for television and radio broadcasting at its meeting decided to amend the process of disabling the analog signal, in accordance with which the timing of the first phase of switching off analogue signal (in a separate area) has been moved from March 30 to August 2018.

The second stage is the analog signal throughout the country, with the exception of channel UA: First, local broadcasters, analog channels on the territory of the ATO, and in some border areas is scheduled for January 2019.

Also, according to Ilyashenko, the changes made to the document provide for the approval of the plan by the government is mandatory.
