The Ministry of youth and sports of Ukraine at the state level, decided on a complete boycott of international events held in Russia.
The President of the biathlon Federation of Ukraine Volodymyr Brynzak, commenting for the media, the refusal of the Ukraine national team from performances at the world Cup in Tyumen, said that the boycott of Ukraine applies to all sports.
“We met the Minister and discussed everything and made this a joint decision. In the end, we withdrew from the stage in Tyumen. Finish the season in Holmenkollen.
This decision was made at the state level, not only with respect to biathletes. Henceforth, the Ukrainian national teams in all sports will not participate in events held on the territory of Russia. Here we do not go”, – quotes the words of Brynzak edition of “Soviet sport”.
Thus, at least some of the next international tournaments will be held without the representatives of Ukraine. In 2018 Russia will host the championship of Europe in wrestling, the world championship on hockey among juniors, the world championship on Boxing among students and other competitions.
