The US President Donald trump was nominated for the Nobel peace prize for his work to reach an agreement with North Korea on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
According to the state television channel NRK, the US leader was appointed two members of the ruling progress party of Norway.
This year the award has been assigned in January, so the nomination would make him a candidate for next year.
Trump also put forward as a candidate in 2016 and 2017.
The Nobel Committee in Oslo usually receives hundreds of nominations every year, but candidates also include Russian President Vladimir Putin, former Cuban leader Fidel Castro and actress Susan Sarandon. This year, it was nominated for a record number of 330 people.
Despite the fact that the Norwegian Nobel Committee is appointed by the Parliament, its decisions are independent.
