The US President Donald trump once again stated that OPEC needs to increase production by 2 million barrels a day.
Live on Fox News, trump asked, whether he considers that the oil market is manipulated.
“One hundred percent. It’s OPEC, they have to stop it,” said trump. “From my point of view, they have to add another 2 million barrels (per day — ed.)… they need to produce more,” added the US President.
The day before trump said that Saudi Arabia’s king Salman has promised to increase oil production by 2 million barrels a day. The White house later corrected the President’s statement, saying that the king promised to increase production immediately to the specified volume, and confirmed the possibility of use of the reserves of the Kingdom to build additional oil production.
A number of OPEC and outside the cartel countries have agreed on 23 June to return to the agreement on the limits of production from 2016, which de facto means an increase in production of approximately 1 million barrels per day, of which Russia accounts for about 200 thousand barrels. Trump before and after the decision of OPEC called on the organization to dramatically increase oil production.
