“Starting in may 2016, we resume the supply of petroleum products by pipeline in Ukraine. This was not the last two years,” he said.

“The main task is to divert resources oil products from the Baltic States. This in no way affects and does not reduce the resource base of Russian ports”, — said Nazarov.

In April 2016, the then Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk had intended to initiate a ban on the purchase of petroleum products in the Russian Federation. Yatsenyuk reminded that Ukraine has imposed a series of sanctions against Russia, but petroleum products in the relevant list were not included.

Note that Russia is not a major exporter of petroleum products to Ukraine.

Since the beginning of October 2015, Russia has reduced the export of liquefied natural gas and diesel fuel to Ukraine. By the end of 2015, nearly half of the total imports of petroleum products to Ukraine fell on Belarus — $1,733 billion In second place (share of 21.9%) import of fuel from Russia $845 million, the third — from Lithuania — $414 million (the share of 10.7%).
