There were pictures of a new distant galaxy

Orbital astronomical Observatory recorded the galaxy, which has existed for 500 000 000 years after the Big Bang.

Picture considered using the “gravitational lensing”.

Similar objects in powerful telescopes usually look like small red spots.

The distance and the age of astronomy are connected. Through the time it takes light to cross space, we see the galaxy as it was more than +13000000000 years ago.

Detail in the picture will help scientists to test various theories of the evolution of the galaxy.

One of the study’s authors Brett salmon told the BBC that each galaxy at that distance looks like “indistinguishable point.” According to him, to see the galaxy in such detail – “a great success”.

“Analyzing the effect of gravitational lensing, which is here used, it is possible to draw conclusions about the size and shape of the galaxy,” says Mr. salmon, who works at the Institute of space research with the space telescope in Baltimore, USA.

About the discovery told at 231-th meeting of the American astronomical society in Washington.

Natural zoom

The effect of gravitational lensing can be achieved when a person looks at a distant light source through another object. Therefore, the shape of the remote light source is curved. So there is a “cosmic zoom”.

In those circumstances, the closer the object not only increases the amount of light from the remote, but it stretches the image in the form of an arch.

“This effect can be seen through the wine glass – the image is stretched and distorted,” says salmon.

The oldest galaxy, which saw, quite small – not more than one hundredth the mass the milky Way. Such a small size is characteristic of galaxies that formed soon after the Big Bang.

The key question of concern to astronomers studying the evolution of galaxies – the origin of “drive” – the main component in the complex structure of many galaxies, including the milky Way. Galactic disks are flat and they include clusters of stars, gas and dust.

“We don’t know how the first galaxies in the Universe assembled them, and when they started to form,” said Mr. salmon.

The galactic whirlpool

In another study, which was released at a meeting of the American astronomical society, describe information about momentum in galaxies, which are about 800 000 000 years after the Big Bang. This movement may indirectly indicate the beginning of the formation of disks.

Lenskogo Smith of Cambridge University and his colleagues used a set of radio telescopes in Chile’s Atacama desert, to show how the gas in the new galaxies were spinning in the shape of a swirl like the milky way or other, ancient galaxies.

“We expected that young galaxies are dynamic due to the destruction caused by the explosions of young stars. But mini galaxy adhere to internal order,” says Smith.

“Though small in size, they grow quickly to become” adult “galaxies like the one in which we live,” – said the scientist.

Explaining why it is important, Mr. salmon said: “When the galaxy settles on the disk, it begins to evolve. Therefore, in order to understand the initial condition, it is important to establish when the turbulent phase becomes calm.”

Computer simulation shows that the disks could exist in galaxies up to 600 years after the Big Bang. Galaxy, discovered by the telescope “Hubble” can be one of the first where the disc came from.

This galaxy is located on the border of what can see “Hubble”, but the telescope “James Webb” should show more details. Observatory NASA is about to launch there rocket “Ariane” 2019.

Telescope “Webb provides a unique opportunity to see ancient star clusters in the Universe,” says Mr. salmon.
