The United States responded to the threat of North Korean leader Kim Jong UN to cancel a meeting with President Donald trump because of the requirements to unilaterally renounce nuclear weapons, and joint exercises, the Pentagon and South Korea.
The US state Department said that Washington will continue to prepare for the us-North Korean summit, despite threats from Pyongyang.
According to U.S. state Department spokesperson Heather Nauert, Kim Jong-UN understands and is aware of the significance of such a military exercise for the United States. She also said that at the moment the US still follow the training plans of the us-North Korean summit.
As reported by Voice of America, press Secretary of the White house Sarah Sanders said that the US alone will learn that declared North Korea, and will continue to closely coordinate with allies.
May 15, the DPRK leadership said that the meeting, Kim Jong-UN and U.S. President trump may not happen. It is reported that the cause may be a requirement for North Korea to abandon nuclear weapons.
Previously, North Korea canceled high-level talks with the South side scheduled for 16 may, due to military exercises the US and South Korea.
