On the territory of the archaeological complex of Sambor-prey Kuk, the capital of Chenla Kingdom, which ceased to exist more than 1 thousand years ago.
UNESCO recognized world heritage site this archaeological complex is one of the main attractions of Cambodia.
Ancient palaces and temples under the onslaught of nature and time, are gradually destroyed. UNESCO expects that the inclusion complex in the list of world heritage sites will help preserve the unique architecture.
This archeological complex was identified as Isanapura, the capital of the Kingdom of Chenla, which thrived in the late VI and early VII century.
