Finland suspects Russian military aircraft violated its airspace.
The Ambassador of Russia in Finland Alexander Rumyantsev called on Friday Finnish foreign Minister because of suspicions that a Russian fighter allegedly violated the airspace of Finland Thursday, October 6.
This was reported by the press service of the foreign Ministry of Finland.
Finland suspects that had two military aircraft from Russia violated its airspace.
“The Russian Ambassador was summoned to the foreign Ministry and informed of alleged violations of airspace. Russia was asked to provide an explanation”, – is spoken in the message.
Earlier the Finnish Ministry of defense claimed that two Russian fighter allegedly violated the airspace of Finland in the afternoon and evening of 6 October.
The Russian defense Ministry the possibility of such incidents denied. In a press-service of the Ministry reported that these days, the planes of Air and space forces (VKS) Russia had a scheduled training flights.
“The flight passed over neutral waters of the Gulf of Finland in accordance with the flight task. From routes no aircraft were rejected, which is confirmed by the data of objective control,” – said the Agency.
“All flights of the Russian space forces was carried out in strict accordance with international rules of using airspace over neutral waters without violating the borders of other States”, – said the defense Ministry.
