Photospin managed to capture the production version of the reborn coupe BMW 8-Series. Pictures that show the car without camouflage were made at the plant of the German brand. Pictures of cars was posted in Facebook Czech edition Magazin ProDriver CZ.
Appearance coupe will retain the General outlines of the eponymous concept car, which premiered in may last year. While the production car will differ from the prototype a different grille, front and rear optics, as well as more conventional exterior mirrors.
Revived BMW 8-Series will be built on a modular platform CLAR. This chassis is already in the basis, for example, “five” and “seven” of the new generation. This platform provides for installation of different engines, from a two-liter “fours” to 6.6-liter 12-cylinder unit.
Probably the most popular versions of the model will be offered with six – and eight-cylinder engines, which at the moment are equipped with BMW “fifth” and “seventh” of the series. Also the range of engines will include three-liter diesel engine with four turbines, developing 400 horsepower. Later, the “eight” will appear sporty M-version with the upgraded 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that the new M5 sedan develops 600 horsepower.
The exact premiere date of the car is still unknown. The company had earlier said that the debut of the novelty will take place about the end of this year. It is not excluded that for the first time the novelty will show the public at the Geneva motor show in March.
