Israeli scientists have grown meat in artificial conditions on the International space station.
“Israeli food company Aleph Farms producing beef steaks from cow cells, said on Monday that the first successfully grown meat on the International space station is a step forward to the goal of the company is to launch production of ecologically clean meat without slaughtering animals “, — stated in the message, reports the online edition of the Chronicle.info with reference to ukrinform.ru.
The researchers took cells cows, introduced into cells nutrients and placed them in a environment that simulates the internal environment of the body of the cow. Cells begin to multiply, resulting in the growing of their muscle tissue , which eventually turned into steak normal size.
Thus, the scientists were able to recreate the natural process of cell regeneration of the muscles of the body in artificial conditions.
In the company Aleph Farms suggest that their products can be bought in the future in 3-4 years.
In a joint experiment on #InternationalSpaceStation, we successfully produced #cultivatedmeat regardless to the availability of land and local water resources. This is one milestone towards promising sustainable food anywhere! https://t.co/COZTXXNNSF
