In the night of September 12 at his home in Paris, the French singer of Algerian origin Rachid Taha passed away. Prior to his 60th birthday he did not live for six days. The cause of death was a heart attack.
Rachid Taha was born in the Algerian city of Oran, and at the age of ten years he moved with his family to France. He is the founder of the group Carte de Séjour (FR. “Residence permit”).
Widely popular music band acquired in the 1980s thanks to the harmonious combination of Algerian culture and Anglo-Saxon rock.
After leaving the group at the end of the 1980s, Taha has recorded numerous albums, which took the combination of electronic and Oriental music.
Note that the latest solo album the artist released in 2013.
