У посольства Украины в Варшаве жгли портреты Бандеры и Шухевича

Polish nationalists on Monday night burned the image of Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych near the Ukrainian Embassy in Warsaw.

The event was attended by representatives of the National movement, national youth and National radical camp. The demonstrators chanted slogans: “Shukhevych – killer”, “Bandera murderers” and holding banners reading “Bandera – not my brother,” reports TASS with reference to the newspaper Fakty.interia.

Embassy of Ukraine in Warsaw, has already condemned the demonstrations and said that “their actions and statements nationalists incite intolerance and act in the interests of the Kremlin.”

Note that Ukrainian-Polish relations have recently become strained. Poland has an extremely negative attitude to the Organization of Ukrainian nationalists – Ukrainian insurgent army*, while Kiev calls the organization’s leaders Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych as national heroes.

* Organization in respect of which the court accepted entered into legal force decision on liquidation or ban the activities on the grounds stipulated by the Federal law “On countering extremist activity”
