The European court of human right (ECHR) awarded 5 thousand euros to the victim in the terrorist attack at Domodedovo airport in 2011, Elena Krivolutsky as compensation for moral damage, reports TASS with reference to the lawyer of the victim Igor Trunov. 2 thousand euros was awarded as compensation for legal costs.
“The ECHR found a violation of article 2 of the European Convention (“Right to life”) and state obligations to conduct effective investigations,” said the lawyer Agency.
According to Trunov, the court found inadequate safety measures at Domodedovo, which was a possible terrorist attack. “The authorities knew or should have known about the preparation of explosion,” he said.
In January 2011 the building of Domodedovo airport was infiltrated by a suicide bomber with the explosive device. The explosion killed 37 people, 172 people were injured.
