Наличие кризиса в стране признают 87,8% белорусов, но крах белорусской модели–только 24%

The crisis has not led to a reassessment of the economic views of the Belarusians. He, in particular, did not reduce mass faith in the efficacy of state ownership.

On the contrary, the March opinion poll registered even slight, but the shift of economic priorities in its favor.

This is stated in the detailed publication of data from the national survey of Belarusian citizens carried out in March 2016 an Independent Institute for socioeconomic and political studies (IISEPS), registered in Vilnius.

According to the IISEPS experts, the growth of faith in the efficacy of state ownership in the unfolding of the crisis and generates a “comfort contact”. The growth of this faith is an instinctive desire to cling to “the bosom of the state” and to increase their level of security.

Naturally, lacking the personal resources of supporters of the Belarusian President believes state ownership is more effective than their political opponents – 64,2% vs. Of 21.6%. Two years earlier the ratio of economic priorities was close to 61.2% of vs. 16,7%. Thus, the crisis has increased confidence in the efficacy of state ownership both among supporters and among the opponents of Alexander Lukashenko.

Rationally to assess the effectiveness of various forms of ownership to public opinion difficult. On this issue there is no consensus among Belarusian economists. Therefore, the respondents when answering such questions, usually based on their ideological preferences. But the question of the choice of the company for which the Respondent would like to work, most grounded, and primarily for those working or looking for work.

As they grow older respondents their preferences in favor of state ownership is consistently increasing: 18-29 years – 26,1%, 30-49 years – 29,5% and 40-49 years at 36.1%. To advance to the next age group of smooth growth followed by a leap: 50-59 years 52.3 per cent. Then a smooth rise again: 60 years and older – 59,8%.

The study noted that natural desire to minimize the risks during the economic crisis has not led to any changes in the answers to the question: “Should the state set limits (“ceiling”) on the amount of personal income of its citizens?” In March of 2016 for the establishment of a “ceiling” spoke of 21.2% in March 2014 is 21.6%, which is almost identical with answers from March 1993 to 22.5%.

The IISEPS experts say that Alexander Lukashenko has repeatedly said about the transitional character of the Belarusian economy, while never explained how and where the transition is performed. However, dynamics of answering the question: “would You wish your children to engage in private business, to tie their life with entrepreneurship?”, according to representatives of IISEPS allows possible directions of transformation of the Belarusian model to rule out a move towards a market economy.

For two incomplete years, the share of affirmative answers has decreased by 7.2 points. It is not excluded that the role played by the conflict between individual entrepreneurs and the government, which came in the first quarter of 2016.

Sociologists also note that the success of the Belarusian economy supporters of Alexander Lukashenko noted in 7 times more often his opponents to 50.8% vs. 7,3%.

According to the IISEPS, the economic preferences of the Belarusians under the influence of the economic crisis has changed slightly.

“With regard to the perception of the “success of the Belarusian model”, the shift towards negative assessments in the first quarter of 2016 can be seen as the beginning of a new trend. It should be noted that external and internal factors able to interrupt him, to date, not visible,” – said in the study.
