Ferdinand Cheval worked as a postman and did not have much wealth. In his pockets walking wind, supporters were not. But it was a desire. There was this amazing story in 1879, at that time the man was already 43 years. For the dream, he spent 33 years – from 1879 to 1912.

Ferdinand Cheval built a unique facility with his hands. Every detail in it is thought over to trifles. The materials for his own castle he collected on the street. The terrain on which daily traveled Cheval, was once a seabed. He carried the letter and marveled at the stone, the shape. It turned out that all the rocks nearby are just beautiful.

Cheval began to gather stones for the future of the Palace. Amazing persistence and incredible strong inner motivation compelled him to do it for 20 years. In parallel, the mailman studied the architectural styles of different times.

The man even quit his job to take up the construction. It took another 13 years. He was not distracted even for a day, even for a minute. Often worked at night. At weak light of a kerosene lamp Ferdinand built his great castle Le Palais. And the result was awesome.

Cheval himself in his autobiography, described it this way: “no Matter what age you are and what you want to achieve. Until you are brave enough, hardy and ready to work hard you will succeed”.

Sizes Perfect lock be 26 meters in length, 14 in width, and the height of this beauty is only 10 meters. In the castle you will see various sculptures of animals, pilgrims, temples, fountains and towers. Perfect castle can be visited daily, except Christmas and New year. The ticket costs 5.5 Euro for adults and 4 euros for children.
