During the announcement of the next big creative update Windows 10 U.S. operator T-Mobile has told about work on a new Windows smartphone, the Alcatel Idol 4S. The device is now officially announced.

Earlier this year it was the Android phone with the same name.

Smartphone running Windows 10 Mobile, got very attractive features: a powerful 4-core chip Snapdragon 820 with Adreno 530 graphics, a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels, 64 GB of internal memory (plus microSD support), 4 GB RAM and 21-megapixel main camera.

Even this is enough to attract the attention of unspoiled abundance of flagships fans platform Windows 10 Mobile. But Alcatel Idol 4S in addition is the first Windows smartphone that supports VR: it comes with an inexpensive helmet like the Samsung Gear VR. Microsoft has not yet shared his plans to use Windows Holographic on the mobile platform, so it looks like I will be talking about the possibility of running multiple 3D apps and games or viewing spherical movies.

The flagship Alcatel also supports Windows Hello and Continuum. The fingerprint scanner on the rear side of the device unlocks the device via Hello, and using Continuum to the smartphone you can connect a monitor, keyboard and mouse and work in a limited PC environment. By far the most powerful Windows machine was the HP Elite x3, but Alcatel Idol 4S brings to the mobile ecosystem Microsoft and support VR. So far (since the 10th), the device will be sold only in the US and only through T-Mobile for $470.
