The American company Oracle, one of the largest software vendors, has tightened the rules for the provision of products and services to Russian customers from the oil and gas industry, which are included in sanctionnee list of the USA. Restrictions touched “LUKOIL”, “Gazprom”, “Rosneft”, “Surgutneftegaz” and their subsidiaries.
The company warned the Russian partners of the need to comply with new sanctions US demands in the oil and gas sector — a ban on the sale, export and re-export of goods, technologies and services in support of exploration and production of shale projects. The prohibition applies to projects that started on 29 January and later, reports “Kommersant”.
Oracle has provided a list of 283 organizations, which will apply constraints. Under this Directive in relation to oil and gas projects was published in the U.S. in 2014, but it concerns only projects on the territory of the Russian Federation. Now it expanded to all projects regardless of geographic location in the case that the proportion of fallen under the sanction of the company in more than 30%.
Major Russian oil companies used the Oracle Primavera for project management, including mining.
