In the final match of the seventh racket of the world defeated Czech Mary Bouzkova— 7:5, 4:6, 6:4. Tennis players spent on the court 3 hours. For the opponents it was the second face-to-face match. Last year in Guangzhou Ukrainian withdrew from their match.
On the way to the final, Svitolina defeated Danka Kulinich from Montenegro (6:3, 6:2), Olga Govortsova of Belarus (6:3, 6:4), Leyla, Anni Fernandes from Canada (6:4, 7:5) and Arantxa Rus from the Netherlands (6:0, 6:1), not having lost a decisive match a single set.
For Elina Svitolina this 14 WTA title in her career and first this season since victory at the Final tournament in 2018.
In doubles draw of the tournament in Monterrey defeated Kateryna Bondarenko together with Sharon Fishman from Canada. The day before they finally beat the Japanese-kitayskoy Duo MIA Kato and van Afeni— 4:6, 6:3, 10:7.
Interestingly, for the first time since 2017 (tournament in Istanbul) two representatives from Ukraine won the WTA tournament in singles and in pairs.
