How to evaluate your weight adequately.
Acting Minister of health Suprun told about “healthy” and “harmful” weight. She wrote about this on his page in Facebook, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to the Correspondent.
“To assess whether all are in order to the weight you should be based on body mass index and ratio of waist to hips. By itself, the weight is not a sufficient guide. A healthy body mass index — the ratio of weight to square of height is between 18.5-24.9. Many people actually a healthy weight, but they consider themselves “fat” (women) or “cryshame” (men) and seek to change your weight, although in this particular need not,” says Suprun.
Overweight is a BMI 25-29.5. Obesity has three levels and starts with a BMI of 30 or more. BMI less than 18.5 is too small.
Suprun also gave an example of how to calculate the body mass index: “weight = 68 kg, height = 165 cm (1.65 m) calculation: 68 ÷ (1.65 squared)= 24.98”.
In addition, the ratio of waist to hips will notify us about the dangers of visceral obesity, a waist must be smaller than the hips. In men, this ratio should be 0.9 or less, and women – 0.85 or less.
“Visceral obesity is a significant risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and erectile dysfunction”, — said the acting head of the Ministry of health.
And the lack of fat harmful and even life-threatening. Adipose tissue secretes or alters a number of hormones. In women with too low body fat can start dysmenorrhea — the menstrual cycle or stop it.
Also Suprun announced the risk of obesity: it is 180% increases the risk of pancreatic cancer; with increasing body mass index and waist circumference increases in proportion to the risk of colon cancer; obesity often leads to depression, at risk of apnea (stopping breathing during sleep), diabetes type 2, atherosclerosis and other cardiovascular diseases and kidney failure.
