Ученые: переедание во время беременности увеличивает жировую ткань у детей

Pregnant women who eat large amounts of carbohydrates and fats, not necessarily and then give birth to heavier children, but adipose tissue in their offspring more than the toddlers whose mothers adhered to the principles of healthy eating. This was stated by U.S. researchers.

The more food the expectant mother saturated fat, the more fat layer of her child regardless of how much the woman weighed before pregnancy.

In order to determine the correlation between the mother’s diet and the Constitution of her child, the researchers analyzed data on 1040 couples mother-child. During pregnancy, the scientists periodically asked each woman to list all that she ate in the last 24 hours.

After the kids were born, the researchers collected information about each of them: weight, height, head circumference, percentage of fat tissue in the body.

Half of the women, as it turned out, consumed about 2025 calories a day, the other half more than this amount. About half of the total number of women received 32% of calories from fat, 15% protein and 48% carbs.

The researchers found that the change of these proportions did not influence the weight of children at birth. More importantly, what exactly ate the mothers. Every 100 calories a day derived from saturated fat, increased mass of adipose tissue of the child on 11 grams, whereas unsaturated fats, that number was almost halved — 6 grams. Carbohydrates into energy is equivalent to amount given the increase in 3 grams.

Because scientists had to rely on the honesty of women who told about their diet, the results is not entirely accurate. However, experts recommend women to monitor their diet during pregnancy, and stresses that pregnancy does not mean that you need to eat for two.
