Ученые нашли взаимосвязь между человеком и акулойIt turns out that the man and the shark are very close.

The researchers came to this conclusion after studying fossilized shark that lived during the Devonian period lasted from 416 million to 358 million years ago, when four-legged animals out of the water and began to develop the land.

After examining the remains of this 385-million-sharks, the scientists found that sharks and people split before Devon during the Silurian period (443 million to 416 million years ago).

The researchers originally described the shark known as Gladbachus adentatus, in 2001, naming it in honor of Bergisch Gladbach, the German city where it was discovered.

Despite the fact that researchers have described G. adentatus, Michael Coates, Professor of organic biology and anatomy at the University of Chicago and his colleagues decided to once again explore the ancient shark. “From fossil sharks, generally preserved, only the teeth and jaws,” said Coates. On the contrary, G. adentatus preserved skeleton.

G. adentatus is one of the earliest known fossils of sharks. After analyzing it with the help of computer tomography (CT), the researchers found that the animal “is the ultimate branch of the family of sharks,” said Coates. – “So, she reveals new information about the diversity of ancient sharks”.

This discovery helped the researchers to make a new assessment that went at least 440 million years, when humans and sharks have a common ancestor, said Coates.
