Ученые зафиксировали новые «сигналы инопланетян»Australian scientists managed to nearly double the number recorded fast radio bursts.

Astronomers using the telescope, the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP) recorded 19 new fast radio bursts, which were previously believed to be signals of extraterrestrial civilizations. Australian scientists have almost doubled the number of signals detected.

It is noted that to date, researchers have managed to record just 34 quick burst beyond the milky Way. FRB121102 of them – the only recurring source. Now, scientists managed to nearly double that number. From 2017, the researchers conducted observations of the sky on the ASKAP radio interferometer, which is a complex of 36 antennas of diameter 12 meters each.

All fast radio bursts, recorded by scientists, were isolated events. One of them entered the nearest flash, FRB 171020, which occurred at a distance of about 425 million light-years from our planet (which is twice as close as the past record holder), and the most powerful flare, the energy which was also two times higher than the last record.

For the first time a fast radio bursts (Fast Radio Bursts, FRB) was seen in 2007, however the recognized explanation, they have not received so far. Unknown and their origin: it may be situated in our Galaxy and beyond, and even on the Ground, creating technical devices.
