Scientists from Israel have developed a unique Atlas of the human genome, which will help in the treatment of cancer and other diseases using stem cells. The results of the study were published in the prestigious journal Nature Cell Biology.

Professor Nissim Benvenisty, Director of the Center for stem cell research and genetic studies. Azrieli, said that the new Atlas of the human genome allows to obtain a new functional view of how stem cells and human genes are able to accelerate the process of diagnosing cancer or genetic disorders in the body.

“This study creates a new framework for understanding how to use embryonic stem cells at the genetic level. The more complete picture we have about the nature of these cells, the more chance we have of successful treatment of people,” said study author Nissim Benvenisty.
