Scary Russia. Afraid of foreigners than before the trip to Russia

Страшная Россия. Чем пугают иностранцев перед поездкой в РФ

Thieves, ticks, alcohol and “dangerous regions” — AIPPI made the list of “horror stories” that tell of foreign tourists before traveling to our country.

It turns out that foreign diplomats believe that Russia is particularly dangerous ticks. In their opinion, it is not necessary in our country to drink with strangers. Many foreign officials advised their citizens to be very careful during tourist trips to Russia or even to refrain from them.

St. Petersburg pickpockets

“Not to visit areas closer than 10 km to the borders of Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkiv regions of Ukraine. To avoid travel to Chechnya, Ingushetia, Dagestan and part of the districts of the Stavropol region”, — urges the UK foreign office to its citizens, who decided to go to Russia.

However, the British foreign Ministry recommends to visit the areas of Elbrus in Karachay-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Balkaria, but during the trip, you should be extra careful. In Moscow on possible terrorist attacks, warned in the Department, and in Russia in General there is a risk of becoming victims of street crime. So, when traveling by train across Russia personal belongings should be stored in the container under the shelf. And when visiting St. Petersburg, “should be especially careful with the pickpockets, who are operating in metro and railway stations”.

“Turkish” fraud

Americans also scare our criminal elements. For example, citizens of the United States, which met in Russia, it is not recommended to raise the money that they can find on the street. According to the US state Department, we have a common “Turkish” fraud scheme: on the road in front of the victim is a foreigner throw money and then release a partner-a passerby who has to “knock out” the klutz-tourists to raise the find and share with each other. Then, as they say, classics of the genre — there is the lawful owner of wealth and accusing both of stealing. Under the guise of the victim just to steal.

Why is an old trick of scammers, which are not bought already, even in a remote province, known as the Turkish — mystery. And that in Russia today it is rather possible to fall for the tricks of swindlers and end up with an empty credit card than to say goodbye with just cash, the state Department may not realize.

Some money for a ticket

Here the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Australia have a higher opinion of enterprising Russian scammers and encourages its citizens to be careful when communicating, even if they are not going to leave the country. The Agency recommends that not to communicate with Russians on the Internet: that will be included in the trust and will extort money for a trip to visit. Apparently, we are talking about our brides, whose profiles are clogged local marriage brokers. However, a few years ago Australians were warned corny in the local Ministry of foreign Affairs to be wary of trips to Russia because of frequent terrorist attacks.

In Canada also fear the “advanced” Russian. The government recommends its citizens not to take treats from strangers in Russian bars. And, even more, to leave food and drinks unattended. And then, they think, can move, for example, in the toilet, and you have spiked with a psychotropic substance. After that, of course, cleaned to the bone. Well, that is not say that psychotropics “terrible poisons of the KGB to ferret out state secrets”.

By the way, says the Director of the French travel company Cecile horn, in the European media unflattering comments about Russia and say that driving to us no reason. “Oddly enough, many people want to come and see it “the worst” with my own eyes. Bad reviews from the French, who visited Moscow or Saint Petersburg on tourist trips, I’ve never heard of. All, on the contrary, rejoice in the changes in Russia, appreciate everything that is done for the convenience of tourists,” she says.

Russian fear of ticks!

China’s diplomats are more creative: no cheaters and thieves. Just their citizens should be afraid of neo-Nazis and skinheads, which is not necessary to come to Russia on April 20, Hitler’s birthday. Another threat to the citizens of China are waiting for spring and summer and only in the Urals — there begins the season of ticks. The Chinese authorities suggest at this time in Russia to spend a little less time in nature.

No less practical Irish. The country’s foreign Ministry drew attention to the harsh Russian winter and ice. The main advice is not to sit at home and just stock up on shoes that will not slip.

Afraid of what Belarusians and Ukrainians?

In March the foreign Ministry of Belarus issued a warning before the holiday season. They say, in the Crimea we will, of course, to go not prohibit, but remember, folks, what the consequences might be. “When planning a trip to the Crimea in the 2016 season must be taken into account that the entry and exit to the Peninsula in case of transit through the territory of mainland Ukraine with tourist purposes is not possible. When you visit the Crimea through the territory of the Russian Federation to citizens of the Republic of Belarus it should be borne in mind that it may be grounds for refusal of entry specified citizens on the territory of Ukraine and bringing them to administrative responsibility in accordance with Ukrainian legislation”, — explained Dmitry Mironchik, head of information Department — press Secretary of the foreign Ministry of Belarus.

The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine for its citizens, of course, pretty scary: the Russian special services allegedly “arbitrarily detained citizens of Ukraine and subject them to torture”. In this regard, the Ministry recommends citizens of Ukraine who are planning a trip to Russia, “realistically assess risks and carefully weigh the need for such travel.” Judging by the fact that the number of labour only “tourists” from Ukraine to Russia is around 4 million, the torture of our neighbors are not intimidated.

What our warn?

The Russian foreign Ministry also periodically provides recommendations to the Russians who are going abroad. One of the recent ones is a “hunt” of the American authorities to the citizens of Russia”. As noted in depodesta, the Russians should remember the existence of real threats to be arrested in third countries at the request of US intelligence. “American authorities continue unacceptable “hunting” for Russians around the world, ignoring international law and putting pressure on other States”, — is spoken in the message published on the website of the foreign Ministry. In this regard, diplomats told the Russians to carefully weigh the risks when planning trips.
