More and more Russians believe that the country needs change, the reforms of economic and political life, according to “Nezavisimaya Gazeta”, citing the research results of the Institute of sociology.

From 1999 to 2012 the number of Russians who wanted change, was reduced from 69 to 28%. While constantly growing the number of respondents who advocated stability (from 31 to 72% in 13 years). However, 2014 began a reverse trend. In four years the number of Russians advocating for stability, was reduced to 56%, and respondents who are waiting for change, rose to 44%.

According to sociologists, a change often are young people (55% of respondents — from 18 to 30 years), people with poor financial situation (50%) and those living in district centers (48%). Among residents of cities are waiting for change less than one-third of the respondents. The situation is aggravated by the fact that in society a growing number of people dissatisfied with the government.

Approximately half of the respondents ran the Russians forecasts growth of social tension in the country.

Previously, “Levada-center” conducted a survey, according to which one third of Russians (34%) believes that Russia’s next President needs to conduct more stringent than it is now, domestic politics. 42% believe that the rate should be the same as now, and only 12% of respondents said that the need for liberalization.
