The President of Russia Vladimir Putin extended retaliatory sanctions against countries supporting anti-Russian sanctions. The corresponding decree published on the official portal of legal information.
“To extend from 1 January to 31 December 2019 the action of certain special economic measures stipulated by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 6 August 2014 No. 560”, – stated in the text of the decree.
6 Aug 2014 Vladimir Putin signed decree No. 560 “On applying certain special economic measures to ensure security of the Russian Federation” in response to the sanctions and to support domestic producers.
The next day, the government decree was introduced annual ban on imports of beef, pork, vegetables and fruits, poultry, fish, cheese, milk and most dairy products from USA, EU countries, Canada, Australia and Norway, said “Right.ru”.
At the same time citizens have the right to import “sanctions” for personal use – but only under the condition that the total weight of the products that fall under the embargo, does not exceed 5 kg.
