The head of state believes that Russia seeks to use the world Championship on football to restore his reputation.
President Petro Poroshenko said in an interview with German magazine Focus that Russia seeks to use the final match of the world Cup 2018 to rebuild its reputation in the international arena, reports UKRINFORM.
“This is pure propaganda tool to a little whiten tarnished Russia’s reputation. It has nothing to do with sports. This is a question of geopolitics,” − said the head of state.
He also expressed the opinion that “everyone should decide to go there or not.”
Earlier, Poroshenko advised the fans not to go to the world Cup футболу2018 in the Russian Federation, given the Russian aggression in Ukraine and Syria.
