Paralympics 2016: Ukraine takes nine medals

Паралимпиада-2016: Украина берет девять медалейStarting day 15 of the Paralympic games in Rio de Janeiro was fruitful for Ukrainian athletes.

The main character of the first day was a swimmer Eugene Bogotano winning swim 100 meters backstroke. His closest competitor the newly minted three-time Paralympic champion was ahead by 0.23 seconds.

The initiative, Bogdano was supported by other swimmers – Denis Dubrov in the 100m breaststroke was the second, and Olga Sviderskaya, Oksana Khrul and Yarolsav Semenenko in their heats they finished third.

Judoists David Horava and Julia Galinsky managed to win consolation matches and win the bronze medal of Brazilian Paralympics. Two more awards were added athletes – Ruslan Katyshev in the sector for the long jump was the third, and Roman danyluk pushed – on bronze.

The number of medals after the first day of the Paralympic games Ukraine is the fourth. In the medal standings, the team ranked ninth intermediate place.
