Оптимисты здоровее, чем пессимисты

In a new study says that optimists and happy students are healthier than pessimists, because they have lower blood pressure and fewer symptoms of depression and anxiety.

College students usually suffer from high levels of anxiety and depression and often neglect physical exercise.

Researchers from the University of Michigan and Fudan University in China decided to find out to what extent the body mass index (BMI) and optimism affects physical and mental health in College students. They interviewed 925 students in order to assess four indicators of psychological well-being, hope, gratitude, life satisfaction and subjective happiness. The researchers also calculated the BMI of the participants.

The study showed that optimism, subjective happiness and BMI contributed to a significant improvement of health.
