The network published a ranking of the 50 most dangerous cities in the world that was defined by the number of homicides per 100 thousand inhabitants.
The list was created by the NGO “Civil Council for public security and criminal justice” from Mexico.
In the first place was the Mexican city of Los Cabos in 2017, for every 100 thousand inhabitants there had 111,33 murder, and in just one year the number of murders increased by 500 per cent from 61 in 2016 to 365 in 2017.
Second place went to the Venezuelan capital, Caracas — 111,19 murders per 100 thousand inhabitants.
The third turned out to be popular among tourists Mexican resort city of Acapulco, with the index 106,63.
It should be noted that Latin American cities have taken the greatest number of places in the rankings. Among them – 17 Brazilian, 12 Mexican, Venezuelan, five and three Colombian cities.
In addition, the top 50 were the cities of Africa — Cape town, Durban and Nelson Mandela Bay, as well as five U.S. cities, St. Louis, Baltimore, San Juan (Puerto Rico), New Orleans and Detroit.
The list was not a single European or Asian city.
