The Russian Maria Butina, arrested in the US on charges of conspiring to conduct activities in a foreign state, financed by Russian billionaire Konstantin Nikolaev. It is reported by The Washington Post, referring to the senators who were present during the interrogation of Butynol.
According to sources, she has told that Nikolaev has financially supported the organization “Right to arms”, member of the Board of which is Butina. The representative of the billionaire confirmed that Nikolaev had contact with the arrested Russian woman during the launch of the organization from 2012 to 2014. However, he declined to comment on the financing and reported that the billionaire is not familiar with the US President Donald trump.
The publication, citing sources said that the son of Nikolaev Andrey while studying in the United States was a volunteer headquarters of the trump in the elections in 2016. It is also seen in trump’s hotel in Washington on the eve of the inauguration of the President.
About the detention of Maria Butunoi it became known on July 16. American intelligence agencies believe that Russian participated in the conspiracy by order under US sanctions senior officials of the Russian government. Also it is accused of illegal activities as inherent. Butinai faces up to 15 years in prison if she’s convicted. Maria Butina rejects all the accusations. According to her lawyer, she has passed in the Senate and eight thousand documents and passed an 8-hour interrogation.
