“While walking we not only moved to a certain location, but also improve our health”, – said the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of health Suprun.

Walking was good because:

it’s a good workout for the heart and blood vessels;
our body begins to actively absorb and use oxygen;
improve the quality, ease and speed of performing activities of daily living;
reduced stress and anxiety;
maintained a healthy weight.

“Walking is a useful physical activity, which in some cases may even replace training. At the same time, it can be easily integrated into daily life – no special equipment or training to practice,” says Suprun.

In order to obtain health benefits, only 10-minute walk at an active tempo daily. But this does not mean that you should do only 10 minutes a day.

After all, when we move a little and a lot of sitting, the body is literally “shuts down”, slowed metabolism, impair the ability to regulate blood sugar levels and metabolize fats. All of this negatively affects the pressure and weakens the muscles and bones.

If you have no time to visit the gym or exercise – just walk. This will help to reduce many of the risk factors:

high blood pressure;
high cholesterol;
diabetes;
overweight or obese;
stress and anxiety;
disorders of the locomotor apparatus.

“Try to spend as much time as possible. After all, any activity is better than none”, says Suprun.
