Most Germans refuse Christmas illuminations for the sake of the climate

While 35% of Germans rejection of the Christmas lighting is not an option.

The majority of Germans are going to turn on the festive illumination during Christmas and new year for reasons of climate protection, according to the results of the surveys conducted for the Agency DPA.

According to the study, a total of 57% of respondents said that they would reduce the use of Christmas lighting, or even never will use it.

11% of respondents said that without Christmas lights this year due to problems with the climate, and 10% stated that they intend to do so in the future.

However, 35% said that the refusal of it of the Christmas illuminations for them was not an option.

Opinions were divided as to whether there should be less such coverage, on buildings and on the streets – 44% were in favour and as many against.
