Mercedes-Benz will introduce a fully electric version of the Sprinter in the next year. This was stated by the representative of the German brand. According to him, the sale of ecologically pure modification of the van will also begin in 2019.
The “green” modification of the car will be called eSprinter. The novelty will be equipped with all-electric setting, developing 84 kW (115 HP) and 300 Nm of torque. Maximum speed limit 80 km per hour.
The electric car will be offered with two battery packs: at 41 and 55 kilowatt-hours. In the first case, the van can travel without recharging 150 km, and the second power reserve is limited to 115 kilometers. The company noted that the new eSprinter designed exclusively for transportation within the city.
Length of the car will be 5932 mm, and the wheelbase – 3824 mm. The weight of the van is 3500 kg and a payload of 1000 kilograms.
The standard version of the third generation Sprinter debuted in February of this year. The third motor line “Sprinter” in Europe included a 2.1-liter diesel engine capacity of 115, 145 and 165 or 180 horsepower. Top-end variants are offered with six-cylinder three-liter unit, issuing 193 power and 440 Nm of torque.
