Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has sacked the Director General of the Gosfilmofond Nicholas Borodachev, who held the position since 2001. On the appointment of Vyacheslav Telnov, before that, served as Director of the cinematography Department of the Ministry of culture.
This is stated in the government decree, signed by Medvedev on 9 January.
As RBC notes, the dismissal was preceded by Borodachev its conflict with Russian filmmakers. At the end of December, 32 the famous Russian Director and film producer appealed to Medvedev with a request to appoint the head of the state film Fund of Vyacheslav Telnov. In addition, the authors of the letter rebuked Borodacheva in “funding expensive projects” not related to the basic tasks of the organization.
In turn, the bearded man said he feared “to leave the organization <…> in the hands of the incompetent group of individuals that absolutely not interested in the future of the Gosfilmofond”. According to him, the purpose of the Directors of the Gosfilmofond of land with an area of 150 hectares in the Domodedovo district of the Moscow region.
